Shangri La Estate and Vineyard
In the 1930‘s, British author James Hilton described Shangri-La as a “…mystical, harmonious valley…enclosed in the western end of the Kunlun Mountains”. Shangri-La has since become synonymous with any earthly paradise, or mythical mountainous Utopia–”a permanently happy land, isolated from the outside world”. The word also evokes the imagery of exoticism of the Orient.
Buddhist Owned and designed, the Shangri-La, Temecula has become the hallmark for modern Oriental-utopian design. Truly a modern-day Utopia, Shangri-La is tucked away in its own private canyon between the Gavilan and Mesa de Colorado Mountain summits in the famous wine lovers’ Temecula Valley.
The modern, Thai-inspired Estate sits on 10 lush acres of vineyard, avocado, and citrus groves. This 11,000 sq ft masterpiece is exquisitely finished with 5 BR’s (and en suite baths), a meditation/yoga room, his/her massage/spa, infinity showers, and a chef’s kitchen with collapsing walls that pour into the outdoor entertaining and pool area.
The outdoor space was designed with the spa and resort lovers heart in mind. The one-of-a-kind glass infinity pool and spa will take your breath away, and the neighboring Thai-designed gazebo (with authentic 400 yr old hand-built Thai courtyard entry doors, statues, and artifacts) will sweep you away to a different place and time.
Beyond the gazebo, a waterfall and babbling brook separate the vineyard and gardens from the sprawling 2 acre flat grassy lawn that is shaded by 200 year old oak and sycamore trees. This area is ideal for large family gatherings or events, and would make the ideal backdrop for a private Temecula vineyard or winery wedding.
Shangri-La is available for immediate rental (finished construction in June 2013), and will accommodate large one-day events up to 250 people, or overnight vacation stays for families, or corporate executive retreats for up to 10 people. Private chef and concierge service is available upon request.
